In late March, we told you that the founder of the company Android and the creator of the operating system of the same name, Andy Rubin founded Essential and firmly decided to create his own unique smartphone. Andy even teased the web users with photos of this very smartphone, but he did not hurry to share details about it. And finally, there was an official presentation of the gadget called Essential Phone. What is it remarkable about competitors? In this we are now and try to understand.

First, the smartphone has a virtually frameless screen, if you do not take into account its bottom with the standard buttons of Android. In the upper part, an 8-megapixel front camera directly cuts into the screen. The entire interface is adjusted to it, so that no elements overlap on the screen. Due to the fact that creates an amazing effect of increasing the screen, and the ratio of the sides is equal to 19:10 instead of the traditional 16: 9. The diagonal of LTPS-display has the size of 5.71 inches, and its resolution is 1312 by 2560 pixels. In this case, it can boast a good brightness of 500 nits.

The main camera of the smartphone is very original. First, the gadget is equipped with two 13-megapixel sensors. The first shoots in the RGB-range, and the second – in monochrome. The device can be focused using phase and laser detection. The camera is capable of shooting video in 4K resolution at a rate of 30 frames per second. At 1080p, the frame rate is increased to 60 frames per second, and at 720p, up to 120 frames per second. The front camera has a f / 2.2 aperture, which will allow you to shoot wonderful selfies, even if the ambient light is far from ideal.

But that’s not all! To the right of the two lenses of the main camera are magnetic contacts, to which an additional accessory of the smartphone is attached – a 360-degree camera equipped with two sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels, «fish-eye» lenses and four built-in microphones. This device will allow you to shoot video with a resolution of 3840 by 1920 pixels and a frequency of 30 frames per second. The developers assure us that in the very near future will be released additional accessories such as a charging station Essential Phone Deck with magnetic connectors, as well as other useful devices for smartphone owners.

The edge of the smartphone frames a titanium frame, resistant to scratches or bending when the device falls to the ground. The back cover of the gadget is made of ceramic and offers a choice of the user four color schemes: «black moon», «star gray», «pure white» or «ocean depths». The screen of the device is covered with Gorilla Glass of the fifth generation. The width of the smartphone is 71.1 millimeters, and it weighs 185 grams. As the central processor Essential Phone uses Snapdragon 835. Also on board the gadget is 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of permanent memory, and the battery capacity is 3040 mAh. The cost of the smartphone is $ 699 (plus another $ 50 if you want to purchase a 360-degree camera). The device will be available for sale within the next month.
